FAQ's
- Am I eligible to receive Financial Aid?
- Yes! Students who take Lee University classes are eligible to apply for Federal Aid and Loans. The amount and stipulations of grants and loans are based on an individual basis in correspondence with Federal Financial Aid requirements. In order to be eligible, the student must first complete a 2011-2012 FAFSA.
- What if my grants and loans do not cover the full cost of Mission Baltimore tuition?
- Although grants and loans take care of a large portion of tuition, there may still be tuition that is not covered. Students should not be in despair! There are several ways in which students can cover Mission Baltimore tuition. Some possibilities may include: fundraising efforts, savings from a summer job, asking your local church for a one time gift and/or monthly support, graduation money, private loans, support from friends and family, and applying for local and national scholarships.
- What if I already have college credits before coming to Mission Baltimore?
- Several students attend Mission Baltimore with college credits already acquired. Typically, all previously taken general education classes transfer without difficulty into the Lee University Bachelor of Science in Church Leadership degree path and any of the following concentrations: Counseling, Pastoral, Music & Worship, and Youth Ministry. An official college transcript from any previous colleges or universities will be required during the acceptance process in order to transfer any existing credits.
- What if I would prefer to take classes from another college other than Lee University while in Mission Baltimore?
- Students are given the liberty to take classes from another college or university while attending Mission Baltimore but the classes must be in an online format in order to accommodate our traveling schedule and limited availability. Students who choose the take classes from another university will not be required to pay the Lee University portion of tuition nor will he/she be eligible to receive Financial Aid from Lee University.
- What if I don’t want to take college classes while in Mission Baltimore?
- Students are encouraged to take college classes as it provides a different dynamic in the discipleship and growing process during their time in Mission Baltimore. However, students are not required to take college classes and can choose to take the non-collegiate path. As a result, non-collegiate students will have a reduced total tuition rate as they will not be paying for college credits. Also, non-collegiate students are also ineligible to receive Federal Financial Aid.
- Are my Lee University credits transferable?
- Lee University is fully accredited under the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges. Whether credits are transferable is ultimately dependent on the school of intended transfer. Most, if not all, general education credits can be expected to transfer with ease.
- Can I be married and still come to Mission Baltimore?
- No, our program accepts single adults only.
- Can I date while in Mission Baltimore?
- The Mission holds a non-dating policy for all first-year students so that students may fully-devote themselves to their relationship with God. Second-year students and beyond are allowed to enter a courtship under the mentorship and guidance of leadership and staff.
- Is there an age requirement for acceptance into Mission Baltimore?
- Typically our students range in age from high school graduates to age 25.
- Can I have a job while in Mission Baltimore?
- Students attending Mission Baltimore in their first year are not permitted to hold a job due to the traveling schedule and daily commitments to discipleship, ministry training and class time. Students attending their second year or further are permitted to work part-time while attending Mission Baltimore.
- What things should I expect to pay for outside of tuition costs while at Mission Baltimore?
- Tuition covers housing, most meals, traveling, transportation, and administration fees. However, some expenses to expect outside of tuition include personal toiletries, leisure and entertainment, the cost of books, and Monday meals (Monday is our Sabbath and meals are not provided on this day).
- Can I bring a vehicle while at Mission Baltimore?
- Student are not required to bring a vehicle but may do so if the wish. Ministry related transportation is provided. Other transportation should be convened through personal vehicles or public transportation. Drivers must be insured per Maryland law.
- What kind of free time can I expect at Mission Baltimore?
- Students are given a weekly schedule to follow that encompasses discipleship, ministry training and class time. The schedule ends at dinner time most evenings and students can use the time thereafter as free time to either catch up on homework, hang out with friends, go to a movie, sleep, relax, etc.
- Am I required to bring my own laptop or personal computer white at Mission Baltimore?
- Students are highly encouraged to bring their own laptop for the convenience of maintaining assignments and school work.
